Dear University Club Member
   
  I hope and pray that you and your family are well during these unique and difficult times.  Please know that the health, safety, and welfare of each Club member, Club staff, the Club itself, and our community continue to dominate the Officers’ and Directors’ evaluations and handling of COVID-19.  Here is an update on your Club.
    
While adhering to all governmental mandates, your Club is continuing to provide as many member services as possible.  For example, we quickly transformed the Club’s traditional Easter Brunch into a tremendously successful Easter To Go.  The Club received 68 Easter To Go orders, serving approximately 325 “guests.”  This is 50 more guests than the Club typically hosts for its traditional sit down Easter Brunch!  Thanks to everyone who supported the Club over the holiday weekend.
    
The Club is providing to members anywhere from 30-72 take out lunches per day, Monday through Friday, and will continue to do so.  Many thanks to those already utilizing the Club’s take out lunch service.  Please watch for the Club’s daily Lunch Menu email, and order up.
    
On the financial side, we are closely studying and to the fullest extent possible curtailing Club expenditures.  Regrettably, the current environment prevents us from providing full employment to all of our staff members.  Many of our hourly staff members necessarily were furloughed, with management providing assistance as to available governmental benefits.  We are reviewing and implementing necessary and appropriate options as to salaried staff, as well.
    
Looking to the future, and given the success of our take out Easter Brunch, Chef Brian and his team already are working on a Mother’s Day take out menu.  Watch for the Club’s email flyer on this event.  Further, lease renewal negotiations are continuing, as is design work for improvements to the Club’s dining rooms, lounge, meeting rooms, and kitchen.  These important Club initiatives will continue, as much and as quickly as circumstances permit.  There is light at the end of this tunnel, and the Club’s future looks exciting and dynamic.
     
I will continue providing periodic updates on the Club and its operations.  Club emails and our website also are useful sources of information.  In the interim, please continue supporting your Club.  The strength, support, and resilience of our entire membership will carry us through COVID-19, and result in an even stronger and more cohesive Club than we already have.
